I completely agree though, about the tendency to conflate complexity with moral greyness. I think in some ways we have the shoddiness of "prestige TV" to blame for this conflation, with the way it impresses on people that complexity = sometimes good guys do bad things/bad guys do good things, kind of thing. Its very irritating!
