The Size of Cults

A thought I've had is that I don't actually think the size of a group is what determines its cultishness.  Like I think people tend to think being smaller makes a group automatically more cultish, but for me, I think the much more distinguishing features are how much control the group tries to exert over other people's lives and how much of a binary 'us' vs 'them' mentality they promote.  I think large groups are just as capable of cultish behavior as small ones, and considerably wider in the scope of the harm they can cause.

The size of the Mormon church certainly does not make it any less dangerous.
