The 3DS came out during the height of my 3D mania phase so I snapped that up when it came out, haha. And yeah, 3D games can definitely be easier at times with the 3D turned on. To be honest, I often turn the 3D off unless I'm playing a game or at a part of a game where it's helpful to have, because otherwise you have to hold your head in just the right position to not see double. There are definitely some places where the 3D makes a real difference in the ability to complete a task, though.
New Leaf mostly doesn't *need* the 3D, but I find it helps when you're shooting down baloons with the slingshot or catching bugs. There's shadows for that too, but binocular vision is great for pinpointing your character's relative position to things. I keep 3D turned off for New Leaf most of the time, though, because otherwise it's just more comfortable (less head positioning needed) playing in 2D.
Lego LOTR sounds like a pretty epic game!
I'm not sure what currency that 5,000,000 price is in. Some kind of in-game currency? Even in yen that would be...way to high to charge for a game extra haha.
The Lego Star Wars saga does indeed sound fun. Lego Palpatine is always amusing! At some point I hope to play more of my Lego The Clone Wars game, which is for the PS3. For now, I've been getting back into my Super Mario 3D Land game. I've played so many Mario games but I still have fun with them.
