So recently I ordered some natto online because I've wanted to try it ever since I first saw it in some food video or other. So, what do I think of it? It's okay. I don't hate it, but I don't love it the way I do tempeh, either. I enjoy the bizarre texture a lot, but find the flavor a bit meh. So far I've tried it by itself, on rice with tamari sauce, and in a peanut sauce stir fry, though that still didn't entirely disguise the meh flavor for me. I liked it best in the stir fry. I wonder what it would taste like covered in barbecue sauce?

Date: 2020-06-28 10:31 pm (UTC)And that sounds like an interesting addition to the natto. A spice blend probably is the best way to combine the natto with other flavors. Maybe I'll give it a try sometime! I do want to see how it tastes with different flavor combinations.
