Admiral Trench in Cut Strings

One character I'm looking forward to writing more of in Cut Strings is Admiral Trench. He is one of my favorite Separatist characters, and there's not really many fanworks that feature him much, so I'm really looking forward to giving him more of a role.

Oh, so the nsfw thing appears if you set adult content to 'should be viewed with discretion'. I'm not going to have NSFW images on here though. I just discuss stuff that isn't G rated from time to time, as one does.

I think I'll just restrict the viewer discretion thing by post actually and see how that goes, just because I have a lot of posts that don't really have any kind of material that requires viewer discretion.

Just so I don't have to get that weird feeling I get when I see nsfw on something I wrote like 'napped for 3 hrs straight'. Like I know that legit that is something people cannot safely do at work, but that doesn't make make it nsfw, you know what I mean haha?

I understand people setting their entire site at a certain rating for their own personal boundaries, I just don't mind if younger people want to interact with most of my content. I don't really encounter a lot of people who are younger than 18 anyway from what I can tell. There are certain things I don't feel comfortable discussing with a minor, but for my personal boundaries my approach is just not to discuss those particular things with minors. This is easier for me than some people because I'm such a ridiculously private person that a lot of those things that I wouldn't want to discuss with minors, I don't even usually discuss with adults.

I think new canon doesn't give Maul consistent motivations or personality. It also doesn't depict his actions with any complexity. He's just there to be evil. Not really surprising in my opinion, and I don't actually think this couldn't have happened in old canon either. Lucas didn't exactly like villains having motives beyond 'be evil' and I can only imagine that a lot of the depth Maul got in old canon was in spite of Lucas, not because of him. Old canon wasn't the best all the time, either, but at least the more complex moments Maul got kind of allowed people to look beyond the more surface-seeming observations. New canon just doesn't have enough of those moments. Though I do think the plot with Maul and Ezra had potential, and I'd like to do a Rebels AU for Maul sometime.

It was fun to put Rax in my fanfic Rescue. I want to do more Aftermath incorporations into my stories for sure. I think even if someone hasn't read Aftermath they'll be able to get some of his characterization from this and I think his actions are still intelligible even without that context. And if they have read Aftermath, well, it's possible to interpret certain scenes within that context in a new way.
