I think I need to fix my derivative fanworks policy, because the intent was to make it clearer what I'm okay with and to decrease worries about derivative fanworks but I've started to worry that I might have written it unclearly enough that it actually might make people worry more.

I want to make this easier, not harder, argh!

I think I often feel those ethical quandaries where satisying one of your ethical imperatives actively works against satisfying another of your ethical imperatives. And I guess it would be easy if I could just be like "well this one is clearly more important" but that...rarely happens.

I'm rarely indecisive despite this frequent problem--it just means I feel a certain low-level frustration about this pretty much all the time. I guess a lot of the time I tend to take the 'do nothing' approach, but of course I am aware that doing nothing is not an ethically neutral action either. Its just the one that's easiest to implement, and faced with decisions that all seem bad to me, I tend to go with the bad decision that takes the least work!
