My Socializing Woes

My big difficulty is trying to run 'friendly and connecting with other human beings' software on 'can I just go be a hermit in the forest now' hardware.  The thing is,I want to connect with other people, but I also want to be far, far away from other people, which is...a difficult set of desires to balance.
