Maturity is Valuable

People dismiss the value of maturity so much, I feel.  Maturity is so often associated with someone being boring.  And even when it isn't, a lot of people associate it with things like following societal norms or politeness or subserviance, none of which...are what maturity actually is.  I always felt mature for my age as a kid, but I was very immature compared to myself today.  I gained a lot of maturity in those intervening years.  And I hope that I will continue to gain maturity for the rest of my life.  Maturity is an essential part of the mental toolset that allows us to acknowledge reality and *change* ourselves and the world around us.  And I can think of nothing less boring than being able to remake ourselves to be better people or to actually make a difference in this world.

Mace Windu vs Palpatine Duel

 I maintain that Palpatine would have lost to Mace Windu if Anakin hadn't showed up in that Revenge of the Sith scene because Mace is just a better duelist than Palpatine and also for one other important reason:

Mace discovered Palpatine's fatal flaw.  Which is that Palpatine doesn't have any real defensive Force powers, and apparently has no recourse to someone turning his Force lightning power against him.  He *will* just keep zapping himself.
