Taking The Long View by Lucillia

This is one of the shortest of those I've ever read, but it's also the most expansive in scope.  A more humorous look at the topic, it ponders what would happen if Palpatine had anticipated just how much of a pain his canon path would be.  This fic draws on a large number of elements of the old Legends canon, including the Darth Plagueis novel.  This is my favorite of all the Palpatine redemption fics I've read (barring my own, but that one has the unfair advantage of being able to supply every specific little detail I may want, haha). This fic also features Maul, who I'm a big fan of.
