Food Arrivals

Recently I received some boxes of pantry goods I'd ordered online, so that was exciting for me.  I love getting food.  And I love having nonperishable food especially.  Like, a big reason I wanted to make money as a kid was so I could buy food.  And that has indeed been the number one plus to having my own money. Among other things, my freeze dried peas and corn and dried carrot flakes have all been restored now. I really love dried mixed vegetables.

An Accidental Attack of the Avian Variety

So earlier today I was sitting on a park bench outside and then suddenly I heard a plop sound and saw a big white and black glob land directly in the middle of my face shield.  I guess a bird must have been directly above me at just the 'right' moment. But because I double mask and wear a face shield when I'm outdoors (I wear an N95 and face shield when I'm indoors) I was not in any danger of what would have otherwise happened--that is, getting bird poo directly in my face.  

Never have I been more glad that I'm so incredibly neurotic.  I always wear a face shield when I go out these days because I figure it reduces the larger droplets that reach my mask(s), even though it's obviously not useful for smaller stuff.  So I still wear my masks to help filter out  the smaller droplets that might carry virus particles.

While it wasn't necessarily a covid risk, the bird poo was undoubtedly a...larger droplet.  And the face shield indeed blocked it with 10/10 effectiveness.
