On the Evils of Censorship

I really don't get people thinking censorship is so great. Literally always used to justify violence and repression against oppressed groups. And because of this, even in the rare cases it inconveniences the oppressor, it still tends to do more harm than good by spending energy on lower-level issues that could have been focused on higher-level ones. Free speech is one of the only things this country did right, lol. Just because far-right shills are constantly trying to make the definition be 'we can say whatever we want while violently repressing the free speech of leftists' doesn't mean we have to just...accept that.
