Pacific volcano: New Zealand sends flight to assess Tonga damage

This devastated Tonga and had wide reaching effects across the world.  It seems all communications in Tonga are currently down.  I'm still trying to find out more about what happened.

It's fascinating and horrifying. I've been keeping an eye on the news.

This was an unusually violent eruption. I'm definitely very worried for Tonga. Even countries extremely far from the volcano were affected by the tsunami, and I can only imagine that relatively nearby islands like Samoa suffered greatly as well.
