unspeakablehorrorThere's a certain sort of attitude that will practically guarantee any moderately prolific poster will do numbers on any of the major social media sites but tends to condemn them to obscurity on any properly designed and moderated website. This attitude is: people who are continually aggressive, cruel, filled with righteous anger, and constantly utterly certain they are in the right.
This kind of attitude doesn't have any particular political leanings--people of all political stripes may adopt this attitude, and these types of people tend to amass large followings on popular sites which they can then easily use to harass others on those sites. In this way these people contribute to the silence and marginalization of oppressed groups regardless of whether their politics claims to support those groups or not, and regardless of whether they are part of one or more oppressed groups themselves. Because bullying will always be more effective on a weaker, more marginalized victim than a powerful and privileged one.
