The Quantum

It annoys me when people use bad quantum physics analogies. Quantum physics is rather unintuitive to the human mind, but it's not some kind of magic physics that can be used to explain anything even vaguely mysterious. It does have very well-defined rules.
Also, quantum physics is broken, and we know it's broken, because it doesn't properly explain the things explained by relativistic physics! And of course relativity doesn't explain the things explained by quantum physics. That's how physicists know they haven't discovered everything there is to know about the universe. Well, that and the fact that the universe appears to be expanding ridiculously fast (and is in fact speeding up) in violation of everything we would expect given our current understanding.
Anyway. Quantum physics is cool, but it isn't magic.
