I think to understand my very specific relationship to humor it's important to understand that I take everything extremely seriously but simply often prefer to do so in a less grim fashion because it makes it easier for me to think about it at all.  I often hesitate to classify my stories as humor (though they could at times easily be placed in such a category) because I often avoid stories classified in that genre myself.  One of the few forms of humor I tend to enjoy is satire, but this was not a form of humor I had much exposure to as a child, leading me to believe for a long time that I just didn't have a sense of humor.  The truth is, I strongly dislike a lot of humor.  I think one reason for that is that I dislike the 'it's just a joke' mentality, and other efforts that attempt to divorce humor of meaning or greater significance.  I guess that this is all to say that I take my humor very seriously, haha.

Rescue is probably my least polished story because my brain started having severe deadline issues with my writing at about that time, so even the large amount of time I was given to complete the story made finishing it difficult.  Coupled with the ambitious scope since it's meant to represent a somewhat self-contained plot but also hint at a much larger story and the fact that it has a rather large cast for a one shot, this made it incredibly difficult for me to finish this story. Nevertheless, I did finish it, and there's a lot I really like about the story.  I enjoyed incorporating a lot of my usual stylistic and thematic elements as well as trying new things like writing in the Rebels era or attempting a rated-M smut scene.  Sometime I'd like to clean it up a bit more regarding the spelling and grammar and such, but I'd also like to edit the content to be more in line with my 'vision' for the story.  The hard part about that is that I know when something doesn't quite fit my vision, and I know when something better fits it, but I don't always know how to articulate what my 'vision' even is, lol.  Anyway, I think if I did this, I'd include spelling and grammar changes in the original story, but I'd make a new version for content changes.

Well, I guess my brain is doing languages now!  I've been trying to practice my Spanish more lately so I can hopefully someday achieve my dream of becoming fluent in the language, and I'm also trying to be ambitious and learn a new and very different language--Mandarin Chinese!  And maybe I'll learn a little bit of some other languages on the side.  I think linguistics is a really cool field and I'd love to learn more about that too while I'm also trying to learn how to write and speak these languages.

Hola and 你好!
