Circular Ruminations

Sometimes I just remember a succession of times that I said various regrettable things because some part of my psyche enjoys suffering.  Anyway, I prefer having a  somewhat functional memory to not having to remember these...unpleasant things, but nonetheless I dislike circular ruminations on such memories.
