Funny how Elon Musk bought Twitter for $44 billion with some thought that that would somehow turn out profiting him.  Like any person who had thought about it for 2 seconds would only have done something like that if it wasn't about the profit, like he originally claimed.  When I first heard that announcement I thought it was just about flexing billionaire power.  Like he can buy Twitter and do whatever he wants with it and not have to care about whether it's an endless money sink or not.  But to see him begging Twitter users to pay $8 for blue checks is hilarious.  He is a horrible man and his Twitter purchase has hurt so many people, but in the end, he is bound, perhaps moreso than even the average person, by the merciless logic of capitalism.  The logic that says that your highest purpose must always always always be profit to the exclusion of everything else, even ego.
