Good Riddance, Tumblr Woes

Dogpiling of the sort one sees on Tumblr is a lot rarer here, which to me is part of the appeal. I think part of that is the fact that this site has a much smaller population, and part of that is because of the design. While I miss some aspects of Tumblr interaction, I don't miss having to worry about that. It never happened to me personally, but I was always aware that it could happen at any time, for any reason. And while people reblogging my posts with terrible responses or acting despicable on anon is unlikely to convince me that I should feel bad about myself in any context, it's not like I would enjoy it, either. It's one of the many issues of Tumblr that the environment seems almost like it's purposely set up to encourage that kind of behavior.
Dreamwidth has it's issues but to me the experience is worlds better than Tumblr. I also really like Pillowfort and I think Mastodon has some great ideas (I just need to find a Fediverse platform with the good parts of Mastodon that also lets me ramble--I really don't care for Twitter-style max post lengths at all, even if Mastodon's post length is a much more generous 500 characters. I can easily go over that).
