Loftwings and Demons

If anything curbs my optimism its when people practice optimism in a way that encourages inaction by believing a problem is less serious than it is or that the inaction itself is a moral good. There are types of pessimism that create self-fulfilling prophecies, but this type of optimism is just as bad--a type of optimism that inhibits the outcome it desires by believing in false solutions to the problem.
