Loftwings and Demons

Even though there are plenty of rational explanations I can think of for it, I am sometimes amazed that I have lived to this age and even that humanity itself still exists.  Obviously there are powerful forces at work that help facilitate these things: I have a very strong survival instinct, and despite the more unfortunate aspects of my life, I've experienced some very important pieces of good luck in it as well.  And while humans can be absolutely brutal to each other, many of us have a deeply ingrained desire to help each other.

So here's to 'somehow, despite all the things that could have killed me earlier, I made it to this moment' and 'somehow, despite everything, the world didn't go out in a nuclear war decades ago'.  I don't know what's next for me or humanity, and I think there are many dire challenges ahead, but perhaps we have more on our side than we think for the road ahead.
