More Thoughts About Rey in TROS

Even though I'm happy to accept Rey being a Palpatine I didn't really buy the revised backstory about her parents leaving her with Unkar Plutt on Jakku for her own good. I mean, this goes back to why I didn't think Luke or Leia should be her parent. It just doesn't seem plausible to me that someone who really wanted what was best for Rey would leave her in that kind of situation. Even if they had to leave her, why would they leave her with a guy like Plutt, who would sell her out in a heartbeat if he ever discovered someone wanted her?
So instead of coming up with a contrived reason why her parents were good people, it would have made more sense to just say they weren't. It would have made more sense if they didn't know the Emperor was alive after the Endor Battle and they just fled into exile to avoid the New Republic and decided to unburden themselves of their kid before getting themselves unceromoniously killed.
Like sure, it's possible to contrive some convoluted storyline where they don't know any better options and Unkar Plutt fools them into thinking he'd be trustworthy and where they for some reason need to leave Jakku instead of staying with her to look after her as any normal parent who cared for their child would want to do. Like a novel might be able to explain all this. But this is the kind of thing that should be understandable from the movies alone. And it's not.
