Rey Casting

Apparently there's been some speculation that Maisie Richardson-Sellers, who played a minor role in The Force Awakens, was originally considered for the role of Rey, probably based on articles like this one:

I would have liked to see her take on the character!

I for one was disappointed that Word of God decided Rey didn't have a grandmother.  This is mitigated, however, by the fact that such a claim is ridiculous and I don't consider Word of God canon.  Even so, it's still quite unacceptable.  So I have decided that in fact she has three.  Firstly, there is her maternal grandmother.  Even if Palps Jr didn't have a grandmother, her mother would have, lol.  That's just, like, basic genealogy.  Secondly, since Palps Jr. doesn't really look much like Palpatine, I'm going to say that while he was created with the aid of Kaminoan cloning technology, he was not actually a clone.  Palpatine wanted to create a son with great Force power, so he chose to use DNA from the three most powerful Force sensitives he knew of: himself, Shmi Skywalker, and (his ex) Mother Talzin.  Shmi Skywalker, unbeknowest to the Jedi, was actually an even more powerful Force sensitive than Anakin, and in fact Anakin's existence was actually due to a combination of her desire for a child and her natural ability to use the Force to create life.  Palpatine spliced together the DNA in a modified Kaminoan cloning cylinder to create a literal designer baby, though because he had not payed enough attention to Plagueis's 'How to Create Unnatural Force Babies with Science!' class, he messed up and the unlimited power Force powers he expected the baby to have ended up skipping a generation.

So Finn has this line in the TROS trailer that I think is really evocative--

"The Force brought us together."

Given the content of the statement, and coming as it does at the beginning of the trailer, it made me wonder if this line was linked to anything else in the trailer.

And then I thought, well, maybe it is.

When I first heard Palpatine say "your coming together...is your undoing" I assumed that he was talking about Rey and Kylo, and he may very well be.

But what if he's not?

What if he's addressing Rey and Finn?  What if he's addressing the Resistance?

I hope that we get the scene of Rey flipping over the Tie fighter.  I hope they don't cut it.  I just really want to see that level of unnecessary antics in the film.  Just, like, egregrious flipping out everywhere.

That epic leap! Rey must've been using those old Jedi books to learn Ataru!

Of course, the trailer doesn't tell us anything about what's going to happen in the film, but I can certainly speculate!

We see a number of different settings here, the most prominent being a scene with Rey in a desert (Jakku?), LANDO ON THE FALCON, and then Finn, Rey, Poe, and friends on an oceanside cliff overlooking a GIGANTIC HUNK OF THE DEATH STAR which I can only assume takes place on Endor.

And then Luke's voice says: No one's ever really gone.

And then Palpatine cackles.

I am going to have so many theories! Is this just like the Obi-Wan thing where Rey hears this ominous laughter in a vision and that's it? Are we going to see a hologram of old Sheev? A Force ghost?!?! Gasp! Are they going to rip off Dark Empire and have a Palpatine clone?!?!?!?! The answer is definitely not--but could I write a fanfic where there's an Ep IX Palpatine clone because I am just incredibly tacky like that? I could!

This really made my day!!!
