There is really no comparison between the taste of fruit from a store and the taste of fruit from a local CSA farm. CSA fruit can taste fresh in a way store fruit almost never manages to. For a long time I was unwilling to try CSA's because they're quite a different model than I'm used to, but the pandemic forced me to change how I got food anyway so I figured I may as well give it a try. Zero regrets. I still don't think it would be practical to get all my food from a CSA, but getting a fair amount of my produce from one? Has been working out great for me.

Chili with Jalepenos and Chile de Arbol
Jul. 15th, 2021 11:53 pmI only had two small fresh jalapenos when I made my pinto bean chili yesterday, so I added a couple dried chile de arbol (which I tore into pieces and rehydrated), which seems like it went a long way to giving my chili a more noticeable spice level. I really don't think the jalapenos by themselves would have given anywhere near the same effect.
