Sci-Fi

I think I'll have plenty of things to keep me occupied when I'm recovering after surgery, but I'm going to see if I can watch Babylon 5 and/or Farscape then.  I've never seen any of Babylon 5 and I only saw a few episodes of Farscape a long time ago, so I don't remember much about it but it seemed vaguely interesting.

So I've been looking at resources online to prepare for surgery, and one of the things I've seen suggested more than once is to find something sedentary to entertain you while you recover.  I also personally found that helpful during one of my more minor surgeries.  Looking for something long (like a novel series or tv series), that's sci-fi or fantasy and not too mentally taxing.  Have considered having a Star Wars + Star Trek marathon of things I've seen/read and things I haven't seen/read (I might be willing to rewatch/reread things, but in general I do tend to seek out the novelty of new media).  I'm sure I'll find other things to keep me occupied too, but suggestions are welcome.  Also, if the protagonist has to endure agonizing pain but still manages to endure, that's a plus, though not strictly necessary.

Suggestions for nonfiction entertainment about science or random interesting things are also welcome.  I'm especially interested in animals, plants, and space.
